Drawing again. I haven't drawn in a while. I enjoy creating visual works. They are mainly abstract; focusing on the combination of color, layering, repetition and mark-making. I would create these works through painting and/or fiber techniques. However, I always would think, I need to start practicing drawing again. In the late summer of 2016, I finally stopped avoiding and began. I did a few drawings; my attempts at realistic drawings. It was nice, but I soon felt that I should just loosen up and start to create without a plan or pressure.

Over the years, I have accumulated a number of sketchbooks. I never finished them from my art classes. In each used sketchbook, I filled with my abstract drawings. I enjoyed it so much, I complete an additional four new books; two 8.5" x 11 and two 5.5" x 8.5". I completed over five hundred 8.5" x 11" sheets and three hundred 5.5" x 8.5" sheets and placed them in a portfolio binder.

The bin looked so sparse, that I just had to fill it. 2018 and I am still working on this 'project'. I just have three more sketchbooks to go (5.5"x 8.5", 8.5" x 11", and 11" x 14"). I want to continue this project and am thinking of filling sketchbooks with a specific theme. There's also manipulating and combining some of these works in a digital sphere or incorporating in painting or other work.

Here is to making!
